Welcome to the Knights of Columbus, Nevada State Council

Sign the Fight FOCA Petition
a way to notify our representatives to stop FOCA

The incoming President has made a promise to
Planned Parenthood last year they expect him to keep.

"The first thing I’d do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That’s the first thing I’d do." -- Senator Barack Obama, speaking to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, July 17, 2007

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would eliminate every restriction on abortion nationwide.

  • FOCA will do away with state laws on parental involvement, on partial birth abortion, and on all other protections.

  • FOCA will compel taxpayer funding of abortions.

  • FOCA will force faith-based hospitals and healthcare facilities to perform abortions.

The time to Fight FOCA is now. We can expect a fight over FOCA to begin as soon as the next Congress begins.

Please add your name to the Fight FOCA petition and let your friends know about President-Elect's promise to expand abortion throughout the country.

Statement on Financial Services Markets and the Knights of Columbus

The upheaval in the financial markets in recent days has caused a great deal of concern virtually everywhere, among financial services professionals, regulators and consumers alike. Every major financial institution has been affected by the turmoil because of the complexity of our economy, and we are no exception. But I can report to you that there is no reason to be concerned about the value of your Knights of Columbus annuity or life insurance. Because of the very conservative approach we take to investing our $14 billion in assets, the impact on the Knights of Columbus has been far smaller than for many other organizations and the industry as a whole. more @ kofc.org

Living Rosary services
Fallon, & Reno

Council 4828 in Fallon sponsors Living Rosary Prayer Services on the 1st Saturdays of each month at 9:00 a.m. and on the 3rd Wednesdays of each month, typically at 7:00 p.m., just before their regular business meeting.  Everyone is invited.

If you live closer to Reno, or are going to be in the Reno area, then please plan to attend the Living Rosary services that are typically held over there at the same time (across from the abortion center near Meadowood Mall.)  It doesn't matter where you attend these services, the most important thing is that we get as many people as possible to join in prayer for an end to abortion and for the protection of life at all stages, so please help spread the word about both the Reno and Fallon services to all of our fellow Br. Knights and to our fellow parishioners.

Supreme Knight Calls on Knights to Live Faith in All Aspects of Their Lives
Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson’s annual report, delivered Tuesday at the 126th Supreme Convention, highlights achievements and calls on Knights to live out their faith in every aspect of their lives.

Resolutions Passed on Life, Marriage Issues
Delegates to the 126th Supreme Convention Aug. 7 adopted resolutions calling for “legal and constitutional protection … for the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others” and opposing “any governmental action or policy that promotes abortion, embryonic stem cell research, human cloning, euthanasia, assisted suicide and other offenses against life.”

Knights Must Live the Spirit of the Transfiguration, says Montreal Cardinal
In a stirring homily on the second day of the 126th Supreme Convention, Cardinal Jean-Claude Turcotte of Montreal weaved together a number of applications of the convention theme, “Building a Civilization of Love Through Charity, Unity and Fraternity.”

Our Commitment to You
by Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson - 9/7/2007

We do not invest in high-risk vehicles such as derivatives and junk bonds, nor do we invest in the types of structured transactions that are currently causing such turmoil in the markets. We stay away from them not because we don't understand them - but because we do understand them - and the risk they entail.
